Schneider as stand-up

Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Rob Schneider returns to his stand-up roots to usher in 2011 at Schaumburg's Improv. Schneider, who co-starred in last summer's “Grown Ups” with fellow SNL alumni Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and David Spade, also performs New Year's Day.

7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31; 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at 5 Woodfield Road, Schaumburg. (847) 240-2001 or improv.com.

Marriott to Navy Pier

Ross Lehman and Kevin Gudahl, who recently graced Marriott Theatre's stage in “Fiddler on the Roof” and “My Fair Lady” respectively, return to Shakespearean drama as cast members of Gary Griffin's production of “As You Like It” for Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Marriott veteran Kate Fry stars as the well-reasoned Rosalind who flees her duplicitous uncle's court and finds love in the Forest of Arden.

Previews begin Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Navy Pier, 800 E. Grand Ave., Chicago. The show opens Wednesday, Jan. 12. (312) 595-5600 or chicagoshakes.com.
