Drug stash found on man passed out in Chicago cab
When a Chicago taxi driver reported that his passenger had passed out, police searched the man's bag in an attempt to identify him and found about $448,000 worth of drugs.
Authorities say the officers found a mobile methamphetamine lab in the man's backpack, along with three pounds of meth and $1,400 in cash.
Police say the taxi driver became frustrated that the man had passed out and couldn't pay his fare, so the cabbie drove the man to a police station on the city's North Side.
The 25-year-old passenger is now facing felony drug charges, and a Cook County judge has ordered him held on $100,000 bail.
