When a plea for life turns into a lawsuit
Recently there was an article about a boat that sank in Lake Michigan, and the people that were on the boat were saved. A short time later, a lawsuit was filed suing the boat operator, probably the boat manufacturer, life jacket manufacturer, etc., etc.
What happens to people who are involved in accidents or life-threatening situations in which we hear comments like: I prayed to God to spare me, help me keep all my limbs, God I'll change my ways if . . . then they are spared and are whole? The gratitude seems to end and the lawsuits begin.
The boat sinking article and lawsuit filing triggered my question: “What happens to people between begging to be saved or spared and then seemingly turning into ingrates?” If this is just the way things are, then there should be a lawyer riding in every ambulance that responds to a catastrophe and we can save time in filing lawsuits. I'm not implying that negligent actions should be ignored and faulty equipment not be corrected.
Just wondering.
