Buffalo Grove restaurant honored by village board

Grande Jakes Fresh Mexican Grill was presented with a Golden Bison Award as part of the village's Business Showcase Program at this week's village board meeting.

The program was established in 1999 to highlight local businesses that have a distinguishing characteristic, such as work for charitable causes. The restaurant at 205 W. Dundee Road has supported the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Northwest Suburban United Way, Buffalo Grove and Stevenson high schools, Indian Trails Public Library and other local causes, village officials said.
