WNBA releases 2011 Sky schedule

Pokey Chatman, the new general manager and head coach of the Chicago Sky, will make her WNBA home debut on June 10 at Allstate Arena.

The WNBA and the Sky released the full 2011 regular season schedule on Wednesday.

The 34-game WNBA season opens June 4 and concludes Sept. 11, and the Sky's 17 home dates include 10 weekend games and seven weekday games.

Chatman's home debut will be against the Connecticut Sun on Friday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. The former LSU head coach, now coaching in Europe, was hired to replace Steven Key after the Sky failed to make the playoffs after five season in the WNBA.

In 2011, the Sky will tip off against both Phoenix and Los Angeles in prime time on Saturdays at Allstate Arena. WNBA all-star Sylvia Fowles and the Sky will host Diana Taurasi and the Mercury on Saturday, June 25. Naperville native Candace Parker and the Sparks will visit the Sky on Saturday, July 30.

The Sky also will host the reigning WNBA Champion Seattle Storm in a nationally televised game on Tuesday, July 19.

The Sky opens the 2011 regular season on the road against former Stevenson star Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever on June 4.

The Sky will broadcast its home games on Comcast's CN100 in 2011, and more broadcast schedule details will be released later.
