New Gurnee park board member

Michelle Klemz officially came aboard Tuesday as an appointed board member for the Gurnee Park District. Klemz replaces Donna Kolar, who resigned in November. Klemz will be on the ballot seeking election to a four-year term in April.

Her involvement includes serving as a director on the Friends of Gurnee Park District nonprofit group since 2006. “I want to continue the solid responsible management and oversight that my predecessors and colleagues on the board have provided to the Gurnee Park District,” Klemz said.

Park board President Libby Baker said Klemz's passion and dedication will serve the Gurnee community well.
