Loyola defeats Texas-Pan American 84-76

EDINBURG, Texas — Loyola of Chicago placed five scorers in double figures Wednesday night in an 84-76 victory over Texas-Pan American.

Geoff McCammon led the Ramblers (9-4) with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. He was followed by Terrance Hill with 15, Ben Averkamp with 13, Walt Gibler with 12 and Courtney Stanley with 10. Gibler also had a game-high eight rebounds as Loyola broke a two-game losing streak.

Perry Petty's 29 points led the Broncs (3-11), who lost their fifth in a row. Petty went 8 for 13 from the field, including 4 of 5 3-pointers, and made 9 of 10 free throws. He scored 26 in the second half. Kiondre Arkwright added 13 for the Broncs.

Texas-Pan American led by five early in the second half, but Loyola tied it 45-45. Stanley then scored to spark a 9-0 run that gave the Ramblers the lead for good.
