Palatine to welcome Mariano's Fresh Market

The Palatine village council has approved the final planned development and necessary rezoning for a Mariano's Fresh Market at 537 N. Hicks Road, near Northwest Highway.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April, with the grocery store expected to open in early 2012. In addition to the 70,000-square-foot facility, which will be located in the same plaza as the new police station that's currently under construction, there will be an outlot with two separate commercial buildings. Delivery vehicles will access the site from Baldwin Road.

The store will be the second in the Chicago area, after the Arlington Heights store opened in July. Another Mariano's is coming in Vernon Hills.
