Antioch lottery for ballot placement
The village of Antioch will host a lottery Wednesday to determine ballot placement for two of the five candidates who filed petitions to run for three, 4-year village trustee terms.
The lottery will decide whether Barbara Porch or Mary Dominiak will appear first on the ballot in the April 5, 2011 consolidated election. Under state rules, when more than one candidate files their petition at the same time on the first day of the filing period, that is considered simultaneous filing, said Lori Kolbrick, Antioch deputy village clerk
. It's not necessary for candidates to be present at the lottery, but they can attend. The lottery is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the board room of village hall, 874 Main Street.
