The skinny: Led by the nation's leading scorer (Xavier Silas, 28.1 ppg), the Huskies try to snap a 10-game, 24-year losing streak against the Salukis. SIU is trying to recapture the “Floorburn U” attitude that worked so well a few years ago, but the Salukis rank among the nation's worst teams in turnovers committed and turnovers forced. SIU shoots just 28.5 percent on 3-pointers, too, so NIU will try to ride its zone defense as long as it can. The Huskies don't want massive big man Gene Teague (10.6 ppg, 7.3 rpg) to touch the ball. Third-string QB Demarcus Grady joined the NIU hoops squad Monday but probably won't play Wednesday night.
