What if families spent like government?

If I ran my household just like the government, this is what it would be like.

I would be over my head in debt.

I would need more revenue, but instead of getting a second job, I would borrow more on my credit cards.

My brother needs some money, so I would put my retirement in peril by contributing 2 percent less to my 401(k) plan and give it to my brother and guarantee that I would help him out for the next 53 weeks. I would certainly not cut down on my spending and would also borrow some money from my retirement account so I could give my family some nice Christmas gifts.

Huh, seems like I am on the road to disaster. Sure hope my creditors will continue to tolerate my deficit spending.
