Thieves target unlocked vehicles in Arlington Heights
Thieves stole items from six unlocked vehicles in a neighborhood in north Arlington Heights between 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, and 8 a.m. the next morning.
Taken from a 1996 Ford Explorer on the 900 block of West Burr Oak Drive was $2 in loose change; from a 2008 Toyota Prius on the 800 block of West Burr Oak was a GPS valued at $250; on the 800 block of West Tanglewood Drive, an MP3 player and adapter valued at $50 and loose change out off a 2001 Ford Escape; on the 1100 block of West Brittany Drive, a GPS valued at $400 out of a 2004 Nissan Murano, and $4 out of a 2002 Toyota Sienna; and in an apartment lot on the 2400 block of North Kennicott, three cell phone chargers, an iPod charger and a pair of sunglasses value estimated at $240 out of a 1995 Dodge Caravan. A seventh vehicle, a 2005 Pontiac G6 in the same apartment lot on Kennicott, was entered, but nothing appeared to be missing.
