Sleepy Hollow earns its name ... again
For the second municipal election in a row, Sleepy Hollow will have more vacancies on its village board than candidates.
Only incumbent Trustees Scott Finney and Dennis Fudala had filed their candidate petitions by Monday's 4 p.m. deadline, while one seat remained up for grabs. Trustee Steve Wind, a two-term incumbent, did not file for re-election. Write-in candidates can still file, and if the third seat still isn't filled after the April election, Village President Stephen Pickett would be responsible for appointing someone.
Pickett previously did that in 2001, when his trustee seat was left vacant after he became village president.
