No contest in South Elgin

All three incumbents on the South Elgin village board are seeking re-election in April.

Trustees Lisa Guess, Steve Ward and Mike Kolodziej all handed in their candidate petitions on Dec. 13, the first day of filing, and no challengers filed for the three open trustee positions by Monday's 5 p.m. deadline, according to Village Clerk Margo Gray.

Guess and Ward filed their papers simultaneously when the filing period began last Monday at 8:30 a.m., so a lottery will be held to determine which candidate gets the top ballot position.
