Fix Medicare for the long term

Doctors who treat Medicare patients are being hit by a 25 percent drop in reimbursements unless Congress stops it. They have already passed a bill to eliminate these massive cuts, but it's only for this year. On Jan. 1, the cuts will occur once again. More and more doctors will stop accepting Medicare patients, and seniors will be left with the chilling prospect of having no place to turn.

It would be outrageous if Congress were to prevent folks from seeing their doctor. We need a thoughtful and longer-term fix so we don't have the same problem next year and in the future. The time for action is now.
