Where is the state's gambling money?

Seriously? In response to state Sen. Terry Link's position on clinging to his suburban gambling dream, the only dreams related to gambling are those of individuals and families whose lives have been devastated by gambling and their “dreams” shattered. Would his latest plan have a big impact on his home county and all the suburbs? You betcha but not in a good way.

The comment he uses to justify his position that “it's something you do by choice” is not that cut-and-dried when it comes to those dealing with gambling addictions. Sen. Link would like to play slot machines “closer to home,” but I truly hope it does not pass the House in January. The fact that we already spend mind-blowing amounts of money on the Illinois Lottery and can still have such a huge deficit baffles me. Whose handling this gambling money, anyway? Seriously.
