Give Huskies more coverage

I am completely amazed at the lack of coverage for undoubtedly the best Illinois football team this year. The NIU Huskies have a record of 10 wins and 2 losses. In the Mid-America Conference the Huskies are 9 and 0. On Dec. 3, the Huskies were scheduled to play Miami of Ohio for the MAC championship. The Dec. 3 Daily Herald Sports page did not even mention the game. Only the TV station was shown. Throughout the year the only mention of NIU football has been short AP articles.

The Daily Herald is not alone in its neglect of the Huskies. WMAQ television Channel 5 usually ignores NIU. My wife, myself and two of my sons are graduates of Northern Illinois University. The Chicago area is the home of many NIU graduates. NIU is ranked 25 in the BCS, yet Northwestern, with a mediocre team, gets all kinds of publicity and Northern little or none. I am very disappointed.
