Geneva man wins Rotary raffle Corvette

The Rotary Club of Batavia has announced the winners of the 22nd annual Corvette Raffle.

The first prize, a 2011 Corvette convertible, went to Doug Warlick, Geneva. The second prize of $1,500 went to Sam Winzler, Moses Lake, Wash.; third prize of $1,000 to Bob Hubbard of Batavia; fourth prize of $500 to David Satkus, Worth, Ill.; fifth prize of $500 to Aaron Bartz, Lake Barrington; sixth prize of $300 to Diane Jangelis, North Aurora; seventh prize of $300 to Irene Schmutz, Batavia; and eighth prize of $200 to Jane Pollack, Batavia.

The drawing took place Nov. 20 at Avenue Motor Sales in Batavia. Approximately 100 ticket holders and Rotary members were in attendance for the drawing.

The Rev. Karen Huff of Companions Journeying Together received a check from the Rotary for $1,250 to support their literacy efforts through Aunt Mary's Storybook project for incarcerated parents and their children.

The Rotary Club of Batavia thanks all participants in this year's fundraiser; all 800 tickets were sold. The Batavia Rotary Club meets at 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays at Apple Villa, 1961 W. Wilson St. in Batavia.
