West Chicago knocks off St. Charles East
Claire Monroe scored 10 points to pace the No. 12 Wildcats (8-1) to a 47-35 win at St. Charles East Tuesday night.
Meagan Radloff, Jordan Nickelson and Mary Connolly added 7 points apiece.
St. Charles East (2-8) fell behind 7-4 after one quarter and 16-11 at halftime. The Saints were led by freshman Amanda Hilton's 17 points and senior Lauren Rohrmeier with 8.
Aurora Central 45, Newark 42: The Chargers (6-4) stayed hot, winning their fourth straight with a victory Tuesday at Newark.
The game was tight throughout, with the Chargers down 13-12 after one, up 21-19 at halftime and 33-30 after three.
Katilyn Rosa scored 14 points and Ashley Wilk and Jackie Cardona both had 10.
Minooka 70, Rosary 41: The Royals dropped their second straight at the Oswego Holiday Classic despite 15 points from Breann Maryanski.
The Royals (3-9) were tied 16-16 after one quarter. Minooka outscored Rosary 20-2 in the fourth quarter.
Guerin Prep 47, Aurora Christian 45: In action Monday night, the Eagles (1-10) lost a tough one despite Mackenzie Bollinger's 14 points, 13 points from Emily Magee, and Yvette Lira's 8 points and 10 assists.
"We couldn't quite get over the hump, but we're getting better and working hard," AC coach Jerry Tokars said.
