GOP now defying military report
Now that the Pentagon has released the long-awaited report on DADT, and it shows clearly that gays serving openly in the military will have little to no effect on combat preparedness, group dynamics, or troop morale, why are we still waiting to repeal DADT? It's because all the Republicans John McCain is the most blatant example who said they couldn't vote to repeal DADT until they heard what the Pentagon has to say are now upset because the report goes against their narrow beliefs.
So, basically, they figured the Pentagon would back up their hatred, and when the Pentagon's report didn't back them up, they suddenly decide the Pentagon is wrong. You'd better believe if the Pentagon report had said gays in the military were a big problem, they'd all be pointing fingers saying “See, I told you all so.”
Tell the GOP it's time they followed through on their promises.
We are the only First World” country that doesn't allow gays to serve openly in the military. How backward is that? Oh, I know the right doesn't care about what the rest of the world thinks or does, but it's time they start. We are no longer the shiny beacon on the hill, but a country in decline because of fear and hatred.
President Obama is trying to change that, but is met by resistance based on lies and prejudice.
The rest of the world can see this. Why can't we? No one, I repeat, no one is a “better” or “truer” American than anyone else because of who they are or what they believe.
Isn't it time to give that all a rest?
