Civil unions will never be enough

“To fear God, tell the truth and make money.” H. C. Paddock, 1852-1935 Mr. Paddock must be spinning in his grave with the favorable message coming from the Herald's endorsement of civil unions. At least they got the #8220;make money#8221; part right.

The oft-used #8220;be careful for what you wish for, as you just may get it#8221; applies to many of our legislators who sold their souls for their favorable vote, and the promises that bought it. Those we elected to protect families and country have put Illinois into a direct path to end 2,000 years of traditional sacramental marriage. Suddenly they know more than the teachings of our authentic Christian churches and the wisdom of history.

The corpse of traditional marriage was barely cold when homosexual activists showed their true colors by stating that the civil unions they demanded is already not good enough, but discriminatory itself. Learn a lesson from this. With homosexual activists what you hear is often not what you get. We need to learn from our national elections by identifying those who failed to protect families and marriage, and vote them out of office at the first opportunity.

Here is what you can expect in the coming months as a result of last week's vote:

#8226; An immediate demand for the right to marry.

#8226; The inclusion of the homosexual lifestyle being taught to your children and grandchildren in health classes at your local schools.

#8226; Attempts to deny church and individuals their expressed beliefs regarding homosexual behavior as sinful and dangerous, under hate crime laws.

#8226; Use of these discrimination laws against individuals who refuse to #8220;marry,#8221; employ or service those whose beliefs they do not share.

Fasten your seat belt. Illinois, 2010 style, has suddenly found reason to make such damaging decisions. May Almighty God have mercy on us all, both straight and gay.
