No incumbents file early for Carpentersville trustee

A 3-term trustee who has served Carpentersville for 21 years will not seek re-election in April.

Judy Sigwalt said she has decided to retire after serving on the village's ordinance committee, the Zoning Board of Appeals and, for the last 12 years, the village board.

“I'm so grateful to have been a part of so many wonderful positive changes for this village,” Sigwalt said.

But after 21 years, she said it is time for her to make time for her husband, her dogs and herself.

There are three, 4-year terms available on the board. The two other incumbents up for re-election, Keith Hinz and Paul Humpfer, have yet to file, leaving the race without a single incumbent so far.

Two residents are set to be on the ballot after day one of filing. Don Burroway, who was the first to arrive at the clerk's office, and Kent Baldwin.
