Hayes, Blackwood, Sidor open filing for Arlington Heights trustee
Three trustee candidates filed to run for the Arlington Heights village board Monday morning, as filing opened for the April 5, 2011 election.
Incumbent trustees Thomas W. Hayes and Carol J. Blackwood filed, as has Michael J. Sidor, who ran and lost in 2009. Blackwood was appointed to the board this past February by Village President Arlene Mulder, to replace Helen Jensen when she retired at the end of 2009.
Four, 4-year seats will be open for election this April. Filing closes at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20.
The other two incumbents on the Arlington Heights board are Trustee John Scaletta, who is expected to run for re-election, and Trustee Tom Stengren, who is not seeking re-election.
Meanwhile, three candidates filed Monday morning for the Arlington Heights Memorial Library board.
They are incumbent Deborah Nelson and residents Debbie Smart and Joan Brody Garkisch.
Three, 6-year seats will be elected in April. The other two incumbents are Richard Frisbie and David Unumb.
