Fire damages vacant Naperville home

Naperville fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged vacant home Monday night.

Firefighters received a call from a passer-by at 6:56 p.m. about a house fire on the 300 block of Sierra Avenue, according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw smoke coming from the back of the home, which has been undergoing renovations. Firefighters discovered the fire in the kitchen, according to the release.

The fire caused about $100,000 worth of damage, fire officials said.
