Batavia, Rosary fall at Oswego tourney

Neuqua Valley 65, Batavia 35: Megan Doody and Malia Smith combined for 41 points as Neuqua Valley (8-1) rolled to a win Saturday in the Oswego Holiday Classic.

Batavia played a solid first quarter, trailing just 11-10, but the Wildcats took control during a 22-8 second quarter outburst.

Sophomore Miranda Grizaffi paced the Lady Bulldogs with 9 points while Liza Fruendt and Erin Bayram tallied 5 points each.

Hampshire 47, Rosary 19: Karla Vietinghoff poured in 23 points as Hampshire upped its record to 10-0 with a convincing victory Saturday in the Oswego Holiday Classic.

Senior Breann Maryanski led Rosary (3-7) with 7 points.

Aurora Central 51, Guerin 47: In action Friday night, Aurora Central overcame a 19-11 first-quarter deficit to win on the road.

The Chargers (4-5, 1-1) were led by Jackie Cardona with 24 points and Katilyn Rosa with 13. Guerin falls to 4-2 and 1-1.
