Warming shelters open in Aurora

With winter weather now in the area, Aurora is reminding residents that six warming centers are available for their use.

Shelters are available at these locations:

• Salvation Army, 437 E. Galena Blvd., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays;

• Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays;

• Aurora Public Library Main Branch, 1 E. Benton St., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays;

• Aurora Public Library East Branch, 555 S. Eola Road, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays;

• Aurora Public Library West Branch, 233 S. Constitution Drive. 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays; and

• Senior Services Inc., 900 N. Lake St., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
