Lombard blood drive set for Jan.12
Donors are desperately needed to accommodate the low blood supply during this time of year. To assist Heartland Blood Centers with its efforts, the village of Lombard will host its first blood drive of the new year on Jan. 12 at the Lombard Village Hall.
The blood drive will be held in the Community Room of Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. in Lombard. The drive will be held from 1:30 to 7 p.m.
Interested donors may make an appointment by contacting Carol Bauer, Blood Drive Coordinator for the Village at (630) 620-5712 or by email at bauerc@villageoflombard.org. Appointments are appreciated but walk-in donors are welcome as well.
“We are hoping the residents and those who may work in town start the year off on the right foot and donate blood,” Bauer said. “By giving blood four times during 2011, donors become members of the 2011 Four Season Club and may redeem various incentive gifts online.
Donors at the January blood drive will be treated to a pint of soft serve ice cream, compliments of Culver's Restaurant in Lombard, and a $10 Fandango gift card, redeemable online for movie tickets, compliments of Heartland Blood Centers.
All donors must present a photo ID to donate blood. Anyone with questions may contact Bauer at (630) 620-5712 or Heartland Blood Centers at (800) 786-4483.
