Calling out baseball's Hall
Although I am a White Sox fan, Ron Santo was an even a better human being than ballplayer -- and with nine All-Star appearances and seven straight Gold Gloves, his human being status was operating on an incredibly high level.
Isn't that what the Hall of Fame is lacking, inspirational men who also happen to be great ballplayers?
So, go ahead, Major League Baseball and the Hall of Fame Committee. Elect the Barry Bondses of the world. But realize, your own human being status, which prevents you from electing a man like Ron Santo, is seriously lacking.
