Barrington man accused of sexual abuse

A 22-year-old Barrington man charged with sexually abusing a teenager must come up with $1,000 to be released from jail after a Cook County judge set his bond at $10,000 Wednesday in Rolling Meadows.

Police charged Adam M. Bopp, of the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue, with the aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl police say he met through a social networking site last year.

The girl and her family have filed an order of protection against the defendant, police said.

Defendants must post 10 percent of their bond to be released from custody. If convicted of the class 2 felony, Bopp could face three to seven years in prison. He next appears in court on Dec. 30.
