Help feed the bison at Lords Park Zoo program

Bison Feeding: Get an up close and personal look at the bison, deer and elk at the Lords Park Zoo Saturday, Dec. 11.Meet at the museum for a short introduction, then head to the zoo to assist the Lords Park zookeeper in feeding these creatures. Enjoy hot chocolate provided by the museum and dress for the weather.The Bison Feeding event will begin at 7 a.m. at the museum building, 225 Grand Blvd. in Elgin's Lords Park. For details, visit elginpublicmuseum.org. Dragon Kyuki-Do Demonstration: Explore the historical and cultural roots of the martial arts in Korea at the Elgin Public Museum at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. From wars both ancient and modern to the more personal struggles of key individuals, discover the stories that shaped the creation of arts like Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. Through live demonstrations by members of the Dragon Kyuki-Do Demonstration Team, learn how the theory and philosophies of the martial arts are put into practice.Presented by AKF Dragon Kyuki-Do of South Elgin, the program will be free to the public with price of admission to the #8220;Touching on Traditions#8221; exhibition, which features the winter holiday traditions of more than 50 different cultures, including Korea.
