Entertainment benefit for D62 Foundation announced

Glee fans, or Gleeks, as they are commonly called, should buy tickets early for the annual Des Plaines Elementary District 62 Foundation Dinner Benefit, 6-9:30 PM, Friday, Feb. 25.

This year's entertainment will be provided by Palatine High School vocal jazz ensemble Midnight Blues and the men's vocal ensemble, The Guys!, directed by former District 62 teacher Steve Sivak.

The evening includes a reception, silent auction, raffles and a cash bar and is at Grazie! Restaurante and Banquets, 1050 E. Oakton St. The cost is $50.

Funds are used to fulfill grant proposals submitted by teachers and staff. They are reviewed and scored by an independent team of educators. During the current school year, the foundation received more than 60 grant proposals of which 29 were funded for $23,000. More information is at d62.org/d62foundation. Visit foundationglee.eventsbot.com or call co-chair Heather Larson, (847) 296-4825, to purchase tickets and/or to make a donation. Seating is limited to 250. Reservations must be received no later than Friday, Feb. 18.
