Sample holiday recipes at class in St. Charles

Michael Zema, professor emeritus of Elgin Community College Culinary Department, is offering a special class in “Holiday Recipes” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. Fifth Ave. (Route 25) in St. Charles.

The $30 class is open to members of the community, who may reserve a spot by calling (630) 584-2596 from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays.

Zema's career includes receiving the 2005 Chicago Tribune Good Eating Award and the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers Doctorate of Food Service Award.

He continues to provide experienced leadership in food preparation for professional and nonprofit organizations.

This class will offer new techniques and recipes for special holiday gatherings, with ample opportunities for food sampling.

The building and parking area are handicapped accessible.
