Infrastructure projects mean jobs

Infrastructure keeps America moving. Updated and safe infrastructure means more jobs, more efficiency, more safety and a more prosperous United States.

Here in Illinois, we have built our economy on infrastructure investments. Not only are we the transportation hub of the country, we are among the leading manufacturing centers in the nation. Manufacturing is needed to supply the steel to improve transit systems and bridges, build the equipment and trucks needed to get the job done and protect the workers who make it all possible.

As the economy continues to struggle, we need to take proven steps to put people back to work. For every $100 invested in core pork-free infrastructure projects, $350 is returned to the economy. For every $1 billion spent on core infrastructure, 30,000 jobs are created.
