Rosary High to hold holiday shows

Rosary High School has announced its holiday programs.

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, the music department will present its annual Christmas concert. The Rosary Symphony Orchestra, along with the beginning and advanced choruses, will perform Christmas favorites that span the centuries and the world.

The beautiful settings of traditional carols and rousing tempo of contemporary songs will surely put you in a festive mood. The orchestra and choruses will combine for a medley of French carols and Handel's “Hallelujah Chorus” from Messiah. Admission is free.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, the Rosary Drama Club will present “The Little Town of Christmas” by Pat Cook. This charming play is a series of interwoven scenes all taking place in “Christmas Town” where one holiday is always on everyone's mind.

During the show you will meet the funny and friendly citizens of Christmas Town including: Skeezix and Sylvester, elves that are short in stature but long in laughter; Dancer, a reindeer with a wacky sense of humor; and a hilarious street corner Santa, tested and almost bested by one tough little kid with a sticky sucker.

Coupled with an Action news team, three kids trying their best to be wise men in the Christmas play, shoppers, carolers and ghosts, and you're in for an evening of holiday laughter and warmth. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students.

All performances take place in the McEnroe Auditorium at Rosary High School, 901 N. Edgelawn Drive, Aurora. For information, call Tom Jesse, fine arts chair, at (630) 896-0831, ext. 32.
