Make a difference with South Elgin Leo Club
The South Elgin Leo Club is a way for young people who are 12- to 18-year-olds to make a difference in their community while earning their community service hours for college.
As members of the South Elgin Leo Club, they will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to their community by participating in community service projects and social functions as they plan and organize various projects. This Leo Club has been very active in the community by planning and hosting several spaghetti dinners for residents in need and by participating in various local events in South Elgin, including Night Out Against Crime, Harvest Hustle and Almost Winter's Day. The South Elgin Leo Club is sponsored by the South Elgin Lions and is part of Lions International. They are currently over 5,700 Leo Clubs in approximately 140 countries.
The South Elgin Leos will be hosting a Christmas Party / Membership Drive from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the South Elgin Lions Club, 500 Fulton St. in South Elgin. Join them for food, fun, and to find out more about becoming a Leo member. You do not need to reside in South Elgin to become a South Elgin Leo. For information, contact the Leo advisors, Angie DeLeon at (847) 608-9091 or Deb Mainard at (847) 697-8611.
