Both parties must work on deficit

Both parties have a responsibility to get federal spending under control and bring down the deficits that have been growing for most of the last decade. The GOP must stop saying “No” to all the bills that have been brought forward to help with this problem.

From day one, the Obama administration has worked to eliminate wasteful spending, streamline government, cut costs and save taxpayer dollars beginning with pay freezes for his senior White House staff and political appointees. The president put forward more than $1 trillion in deficit reduction in his 2011 budget, including a three-year freeze in nonsecurity spending which will bring nonsecurity discretionary spending to its lowest level as a share of the economy in 50 years.

If our country is to move forward, both parties must work together and do what's best for the American people. It sure seems that the GOP is only interested in one thing: Stop President Obama from a second term.

The media should fight the lies that the right-wingers are spreading about the administration. Instead of just repeating their propaganda, why not investigate, and report the truth?
