Rolled-over dump truck closes Route 14 ramp

Clean up crews remain at the scene in Palatine after a dump truck full of dirt rolled over near Northwest Highway and Dundee Road.

The westbound ramp to Northwest Highway remains closed from Dundee Road, said Palatine Fire Department Deputy Chief Randy Friese.

Paramedics took the driver of the 18-wheeler to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington for minor injuries, Friese added.

The fire department was called at 11:30 a.m. after the truck rolled over on its passenger's side. Friese said clean up could take a while and that crews were using heavy equipment, including front loaders to help clear the scene.
