Lake Villa man denies having child porn

A Lake Villa man charged with possessing child pornography on his home computer pleaded not guilty Friday in Lake County Circuit Court.

Eric Pasko, 29, faces up to five years in prison if convicted of possession of child pornography but would also be eligible for probation.

Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said investigators from the state attorney general's office tracked downloaded child pornography to a computer at Pasko's residence in the 300 block of Hampton Court.

Those investigators notified the Lake County sheriff's office, which sent officers to Pasko's home on Aug. 19, Stanton said.

Pasko agreed to a search of his computer, Stanton said, and investigators discovered 14 images and two videos of suspected child pornography.

Pasko was released from custody after posting $1,000 for bond.

Circuit Judge James Booras scheduled a trial of the case for Jan. 28 and ordered Pasko to appear in court Jan. 11.
