Elgin police looking for robbery suspects

Police are looking for two men suspected of armed robberies at two Elgin businesses this year.

On July 26, the suspects demanded cash while displaying a small, silver-framed handgun at Taqueria Los Cocos, 81 Villa St., police said. They believe the same men robbed the Family Dollar, 611 Dundee Ave., at gunpoint Oct. 25.

The men fled on foot in both armed robberies, police said.

The suspects are both described as Hispanic, between 30 and 35 years old, unshaven, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weigh about 200 pounds each.

One suspect was wearing a white “South Pole” T-shirt and blue jeans, and the other had on a black T-shirt, khaki pants and a blue baseball cap.

Anyone with information can call Elgin Police at (847) 289-2612.
