New principal in Libertyville District 70
Highland Middle School Assistant Principal Jonathan R. Hallmark will take over the top slot of principal in July. Hallmark, 34, who has been assistant principal the past four years, will replace Sharon Aspinall, who is retiring.
The promotion was recently approved by the Libertyville Elementary District 70 school board. Hallmark was described by Superintendent Guy Schumacher as an “intelligent and invested educational leader.” Hallmark was dean of students at Old Orchard Junior High School in Skokie and taught in Barrington, Streamwood and Bartlett before coming to District 70.
Hallmark's wife and mother are teachers, his father-in-law is a retired high school administrator and his mother-in-law is a retired eighth grade teacher.
