Santa dons his engineer's cap in Naperville

Santa is a really busy guy.

When he's not working with the elves to make little toy trains he seems to spend a lot of time riding on real ones to greet good girls and boys.

Mr. Claus will be at it again when he boards the Santa Train at 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, Dec. 4, for rides that depart from Naperville's downtown train station along Fifth Avenue.

Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the rides feature games, singalongs and a visit from Old Saint Nick.

Tickets are $15 for most riders, and it's usually a good idea to snap them up in advance it's rare any are still available on the day of the ride.

You can buy them online at www.naperjaycees.org or in person (cash or check only) at Dean's Clothing, 226 S. Main St.; DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St.; or Oswald's Pharmacy, 88 W. Gartner Road.

Participants are asked to arrive at the station about 20 minutes before the train rolls out.

The rides last about 50 minutes and go from Naperville to the North Pole (or about Brookfield, whichever is closer) and then comes back.
