Living Well center offers discussion on holiday grief

Laurel Fisher, MS LPC will facilitate a round-table discussion on how the holidays can be a difficult time of the year for those who have lost a loved one from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Living Well Cancer Resource Center, 1803 W. State St., Geneva.

Join Fisher for an interactive round-table discussion on handling significant dates, especially the holidays after you have lost a loved one. Fisher will discuss tools and coping strategies and will answer your specific bereavement related questions. This group is open to the public and is free, however preregistration is required.

•Teen Grief Group: From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 8 and 15, the new Teen Grief group focuses on helping those ages 13 to 18 process the emotions involved with losing a loved one. This group is free, however preregistration is required. Call to make a reservation at (630) 262-1111.

• ME Too: Children's Grief Support: From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, ME Too, a grief support group for children ages 6 to 12 who have experienced a death of a parent, sibling, relative or friend from cancer will meet. This group runs simultaneously with the adult grief group, Good Grief. This group is free, however preregistration is required. The group is open to new members.
