1 injured when CTA train hits car
Officials say one person is injured after a Chicago Transit Authority train derailed and hit a car on the city's northwest side.
Police say a train on the CTA's brown line struck a vehicle around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.
CTA spokeswoman Wanda Taylor says the train was traveling north when it struck the car.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Joe Roccaasalva says the driver of the car was taken in serious to critical condition to a Chicago hospital.
The platform of the train station was also damaged. Taylor says bus shuttles are helping transport passengers between stops near the damage.
Authorities say no train passengers were injured.
