Indiana state trooper suspended over fight
INDIANAPOLIS -- A veteran state trooper will serve a two-day suspension after an internal investigation found he misused his authority when he got into an altercation with an Indianapolis police commander.
The Indianapolis Star reports Master Trooper Detective Wayne Billings is being disciplined for his role in an Aug. 17 incident involving Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Deputy Chief William Benjamin.
That's according to findings of the internal investigation dated Nov. 15 and released Wednesday.
Billings is a 30-year veteran. The Star says he confronted Benjamin in Benjamin's third-floor office at the City-County Building.
IMPD officials say no one was hurt or arrested, and no guns were involved.
