Voters get government they deserve
With the election of Pat Quinn as governor, the voters decided to continue with business as usual instead of going in a new direction. They did this with the knowledge that Quinn has helped create record deficits and his only solution is to raise taxes 67 percent.
In McHenry County, the voters decided by an overwhelming majority to elect Joe Walsh as our new congressman on his pledge to reduce government spending. We did this knowing that Walsh has government tax liens for failing to pay his taxes. We know that Walsh was recently foreclosed on, and lost his home for failure to make his mortgage payments.
It's clear that Walsh can't handle his own finances, yet he is now being entrusted with our nation's budget. McHenry County elected Walsh anyway, which proves the axiom that we deserve the government we get.
