The injustice in the justice system
A word to Lake County tax payers involved in a lawsuit: You can sue anybody, for anything, anytime. Take your case to court and experience postponement, continuances, delays, and vacates.
Since judges were lawyers in their previous life, the key words are bill-a-ble (bull) hours for attorneys. Let's keep the courts busy and crowded with unnecessary appearances.
If you happen to miss a court date for trial or motion, do not fret. You can use excuses, such as my dog ate the court order or I noted the date on my calendar from 2009. Even if you won your trial, be prepared for the decision to be vacated and a new date set. Judges think the public has all the time and money to keep coming back.
Make sure you hire a lawyer. Apparently judges have selected hearing and only listen to what “they” have to say and your words, Mr. Average citizen, go on deaf ears. I have been there, done that, and am still doing it. Ahh, the justice system at work!
