Hartstein's display may bring more consequences
I'd like to thank Mr. Hartstein for validating what I've always told my children; age has little to do with knowledge or wisdom, and certainly nothing to do with maturity.
I couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw the article. The only thing missing was him chanting, “Nah Nah, Boo Hoo” like we did in first grade when we beat our rival at something.
What was he thinking indeed.
That display made his intentions crystal clear in my mind. He was vindicated at last. His ego took it on the chin from Ms. Stone in chambers, and outside, public humility was his weapon of choice to even the score.
Unfortunately, there will be consequences (another teachable moment for the kids) when you make something personal.
Ms. Stone couldn't have worded it any better. Integrity. You were just having fun. Really, that's your apology.
Guess what, Mr. Hartstein, political agenda is serious business! We may all have to pay for what will surely set a precedence for future elections.
Yes, it's true we can't turn back the clock and undo our mistakes; it's for that very reason we, as adults, setting an example for our future chamber members, must refrain from personal motives.
Would it have been too much to ask, rather than selfishly bask in your own personal satisfaction, to display a more dignified moment, by just acknowledging that it was a sad day for Buffalo Grove and been done with it.
