Man killed by Metra train on NW Side
A man was killed by a Union Pacific North Line Metra train traveling from Chicago to Waukegan Sunday morning.
The train, No. 321, left Chicago at 10:35 a.m. and would have reached Waukegan by 11:50 but was delayed at the Rogers Park stop after hitting the man at 10:59 a.m. on the 7000 block of North Ravenswood Avenue, according to a Chicago Police Department news affairs spokesman.
Police are investigating the incident.
Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said the tracks are elevated near the Rogers Park station and not in a location where a person would normally walk.
