Scouting Metea Valley boys basketball

Scouting report: It is realistic to assume last year’s gaudy underclass record will not stand up to the first year of varsity ball. Still, fans may entertain a fast track to success. Before joining Metea last school year Vozza spent the prior decade at Neuqua Valley under Todd Sutton, quickly helping that program develop into a power. Metea had a double-figure scorer from last year’s club transfer away, leaving point guard Solomon as the top returning scorer at 11 points per game. Obendorf more a wing than the banger his brother Kyle was at Waubonsie Valley averaged about 9 points. Parker, Bojanic, Desai go 6-3, 6-4, 6-5, respectively, but success will mainly come from defensive pressure and up-tempo play led by its backcourt. “It’s a good group of kids to start a program with,” Vozza said. “It’s just a big jump from sophomore-JV to varsity.”
