Ticket prices soaring for NU, Illini game at Wrigley

The Northwestern-Illinois football game at Wrigley Field on Saturday is proving to be one hot ticket.

How hot?

Let's look at some of the numbers provided by StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace:

• Fans are paying an average price of $171 for Saturday's matchup.

• The game is fetching the highest average price among the rest of Northwestern's home games. Last Saturday's game against Iowa was second at $95 per ticket.

• The game ranks among the top 10 college games of the week in terms of ticket interest and is quickly climbing.

• As of Wednesday afternoon, StubHub had more than 1,200 tickets available for Saturday's game with the lowest priced ticket available for $55 (standing room only) and the highest price were dugout box seats, starting at $136.
